Lack of competent professionals is observed in Russia

According to the forecasts of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the amount of money resources, transferred by physical bodies into management sphere during the next three years in Russia will be annually increased by 30-50%. However there will be no right people to administer these money resources: lack of qualified personnel is observed in this field, according to Business&FM. Management in charge of major private capital and investment bankers from 43 countries, interviewed by PwC, expect that during the next three years the amounts of administered resources will increase on average by 30% a year. The most significant increase of these rates is forecasted in the developing countries: for example in Russia it will amount to 50% a year.

According to the statistics of The National Association of Stock Market Participants, only during the last half a year the number of private investors has increased from 350 thousand up to 500 thousand. The major cause of such amount of activity is "public IPO": some thirty thousand people took part in allocation of Sberbank’s funds, and more than one hundred and thirty thousand took part in allocation of VTB’s funds. According to estimates of Alexei Timofeyev, representative of directorate of The National Association of Stock Market Participants, formulated by him at International Investment Forum in Saint Petersburg, by the end of the year the number of private investors can amount to 700 thousand people.

The amount of net funds attracted into the set up PIFs during the I-st quarter amounted to 15.8 milliard rubles – that is 50% more that during the same period of the previous year.

However, as it is pointed out by Alexander Gerassimov the chief of Information Analytical Department of MMVB, the main advantage of "the private sector" is the number of participants, but not the amount of funds: thus, in May of the previous year their share fraction in the daily turnover of the stock exchange constituted 29%, and in May this year it constituted 16.4%. But one should give serious consideration to the results of PwC forecast, he considers. "First, income level of the population is being increased, second, behavior of people is being changed: they prefer securities to deposits, because their profitability rate is higher”,- he says.

However their will be nobody to administer the increasing volume of funds: only 26% of questioned PwC managers are sure, that they will be able to hire the sufficient amount of administrators during the following three years in order to fulfill their development plans. In the course of market expansion and growth of the demand for investment services the problem of training and search of qualified professionals is becoming more and more urgent, confirms Yevgeniy Kogan, Director General of "Antanta Pioglobal". "A lot of managers are overestimated in the result of expansion of foreign investment banks to Russian market,"- he claims. During the investment year professional labor force became on average 50% more expensive, complains Valery Petrov Director General of "Ingosstrah Investments" Steering Committee. According to the top manager of one of the major investment banks, salaries of specialists within this sphere have exceeded European level. At the same time such situation gives possibility to freshly set up companies, facing the problem of lack of specialists, to attract managers from abroad, Petrov admits.
